I love medieval archatecture including castles, cathedrals, etc. I try to create scenes of medieval life in action. I love trying different and innovative building techniques and solving problems. My goal is to make these bricks appear to flow in a natural organic way. I never follow instructions, instead I start with a general idea and let the bricks tell me how to get there.

I definitely find bricklink to be a way more user friendly experience than either pick a brick, or bricks and pieces. Since the LEGO group now owns bricklink I hope they encorporate a similar part database system. Its just so much easier to find the parts youre looking for.

I dont think connecting to bricklink is necessary, but using a similar sorting system would be a huge improvement. Having to find part numbers and set numbers makes the process way harder than it needs to be.

Yeah I've been eyeballing those parts as well. Some of those webs would make excellent accent pieces

Didn't lego decide to no longer do region specific sets, as it caused a lot of fan frustration. I understand that this is supposed to be a pilot project, but its essentially region specific sets. Also when resellers are snapping them up like crazy, because they are rare, the data collected is useless. It doesnt tell them anything about actual market interest.
I like the idea of releasing some popular sets with different colours or variations, but the limited quantity just frustrates fans.

They just raided the lepin factories and took all their moulds. These guys are probably trying to blow out what's left of their illegal stock

    • RE: Lego 90th Anniversary Fan Vote!

Its just weird that lego couldnt foresee the problems with structuring things this way. It seems intuitive that backlash was going to happen by splitting the vote. They could have easily saved themselves some trouble, with a little forethought. Backlash seems inevitable no matter which theme wins at this point.

I would have just made themes like castle one vote, but if you vote for it ask which was your favorite subtheme. Lion knights, wolfpack etc. Then the top theme in the winning category would be the winner.

I suppose that might have its own problems, but lego should have access to some pretty advanced computer modelling. They should be able to figure this out

@Krista yeah the printed tiles would be great for a record store or wall art/ posters. Yes i was thinking they were probably heading that way as part of their sustainability initiative. They still have plastic bags inside the boxes in the vidiyo boxes though so their not there yet.

Yeah it would necessitate some trading. I usually dont want the whole set, but sometimes want multiples of certain figs, like the knights and vikings in series 20. I wanted a crap load of those, but would have to go to the secondary market to find them, instead of periodically going to a store and feeling for them.

From legos perspective that might be a good thing though. People taking all of one fig out of boxes leaves some people without them, and im sure its inconvenient for stores to have a bunch of randos constantly feeling through the minifigs

Yeah its different alright. I have to admit it does seem a little better than many of legos other attempts at integrating technology.
The collectable vidiyo minifigs come in little boxes so i hope they done start doing that with the other cmf series. You cant feel for which figs youre getting with the boxes

Sounds like fun. If my math is correct, unfortunately it starts at 4am Pacific time. I wonder if they are going to record it and put the video up on YouTube for us to watch at a later time?
